The pic shows my last 3 results having increased my NDT over the months to 2 grains
I parted company with my endo who stated that I should add in 25mcgs Levothyroxine and increased my NDT in small increments to 3 NDT, and having read a great deal about introducing T3 and reducing or cutting back on NDT altogether I thought that I would try a small addition of T3 and tested to see how i was affected.
For the first time, my FT4 has got up off the floor, which I do not understand, so can anyone tell me why that’s happened, please? Also I switched from Nature Throid to Thyroid S.
I haven’t really felt any better, my weight is still going up, tinnitus is worse. I have run out of magnesium and there was a delivery delay so I have been without that for nearly a week. I realise that some of feeling awful is to do with that.
I can see that I have popped over the upper end of the range regarding T3, so I will have to ‘do something’ what do you think that should be? I would be really grateful for any help.
22.11.18 taking 3 NDT + 6.25 T3
TSH 0.005 (0.27-4.20)
FT4 17.200 (12.00-22.00)
FT3 7.2 (3.10-6.80)

When my FT3 was over range same as yours mine was 8.2 I was also losing too much weight and my heart rate was too high. I am now on 2.5 Thyroid s and have taken my yearly blood test this morning. Perhaps increasing to 2.5 might help or 2.75.
Thank you Bunnyjean, I am taking 3 grains of thyroid s, and 6.25 mg of T3. I am wondering whether NDT just doesn’t suit me. I have put on weight steadily since I started taking it in April. Even this morning, I had put on weight since that blood test. I am wondering whether to reduce the thyroid s and slightly increase the T3. My resting heart rate remains between 54-62 which is up from when I started (48-56). I am pleased to hear that you sound to be well on thyroid s as I was a bit anxious about swapping recently. Thanks again
Well I had been well on thyroid s for two years until the batch I received in July I started feeling weird straight away and after 8 days land up blacking out onto my head and A & E. I have been on this batch for about 8 weeks now and feel that I am now under medicated. I have just had my bloods done so I will see in a few days. The only time I have ever gained weight was after my thyroid was removed in Oct 2015 and I was put onto Levo for 8 months I gained 10 lbs and became very ill.
Perhaps you need to try a different brand I have just ordered nature-thyroid from the US and waiting for it to arrive. When I mixed T3 and NDT it was no good at all.
Thanks again, Bunnyjean. I was pleased to see that my blood results appeared to confirm that my thyroid s was as good if not better than the nature Throid I had been taking. I was looking at some posts by shaws about measuring the improvements in the symptoms that you want to see. I think that of all my symptoms I would like to see my energy and aches and pains improve and my weight start to reduce. I am thinking that, maybe, I will be better off without the combination, as you say, and end up on T3 only.
I’m sorry to hear about you ending up in A&E. Do you have a few symptoms that you use to measure improvements? How are they going?
I am still waiting for my Nature-Throid to arrive. I am on Thyroid s at present.
Three grains was to high my heart was going mad and I was losing too much weight.
On 2.5 grains I am tired all day. I may try 2.75 but really I cannot be bothered anymore. I have no other health problems and all of my vitamins and minerals
are good. Logically I should feel better but I have given up on that.
I don't have any weight problems or aches and pains it's just the constant tired feeling all day.
