That was quick only posted sample off yesterday and just got results. Not sure whether to be happy -all ok - or sad as there is nothing to blame for my weight gain.
TSH 0.029 range 0.27 -4.2
Ft4 24.1 range 12 - 22
Ft3 5.04 range 3.1 - 6.8
Thyroglobulin antibody 16.4 range 0 - 115
TPA 9 range 0 - 34
Concerned about low TSH and osteoporosis but it is always low when I feel good.
Low TSH does not cause osteoporosis. That is a myth.
I would say that you have your FT3 to blame for your weight-gain. It's only just over mid-range. Most hypos need it higher than that. But, you have a conversion problem because you need your FT4 well over-range to get it just mid-range. You'd probably do better with a slightly lower dose of levo, and some T3 added.
Grey goose is correct low TSH does not cause osteoporosis or osteopenia. I lost my thyroid 2 yrs ago to cancer and my Endo had me do bone scan it showed I had mild osteopenia and in all her infinite wisdom she tells me my low TSH has caused my osteopenia and I need to reduce my thyroid meds....the kicker I had bone scan in 2010 and I had osteopenia then and I had a thyroid and was on no medications for thyroid problems......My Endo could not explain why I had osteopenia in 2010 I can explain it they are Con Artist who are willing to destroy what little health you still have left. I did not reduce my meds.
When I first started Afib Dr tried twice to get T3 tested on NHS but no joy. I asked another Dr if I could see endo and she refused point blank!!!
You make have to go privately to get it done, sad but true. Might well be worth to see if doctor will test VIT D,B12, folate and ferritin. They need to be optimal to get our thyroid to work better, can improve conversion and get rid of some symptoms as well as improve general well being. Getting mine optimal reversed my conversion issues but a lot depends on how low you are first.
