You need to have TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested at the same time to find out what is going on. What thyroid condition have you been diagnosed with and on what basis? Have you had thyroid antibodies TPO and TgAb tested for Hashimotos thyroiditis and have you had TSI and TRAB tested to rule out Graves disease (overactive thyroid)?
Despite asking for T3 to be tested they didn't and GP with my symptoms fatigue headaches fever bouts loosing weight loose bowels said I think it's over active thyroid didn't use the term Graves
There can be a number of reasons for overactive thyroid and you really need to know what thyroid condition you have in order to treat it correctly. Hashimotos thyroiditis can cause periods of overactivity as can Graves disease so make sure the Endo is a thyroid specialist, not a diabetic specialist and actually conducts the relevant tests for full thyroid evaluation. See SeasideSusie or SlowDragon 's posts for best advice on full evaluation.
You could organise your own thyroid tests
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies for Hashimoto's and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
Plus Private testing for suspected Graves - TSI or TRab antibodies
medichecks.com/thyroid-func...
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
If TPO or TG antibodies are high this is usually Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease). But it can sometimes be a Graves
So TSI or TRab antibodies are the ones yo test for confirming Graves
About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's.
Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's or Graves
Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten.
So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies, plus TSI or TRab antibodies if Graves is suspected tested at least once .
