I buy my cynomel from Mexico. Called today and was told it wasn't available anywhere in Mexico anymore and they don't know when it will be again. Anyone heard this? If anyone knows where to get it PM me.

Yes, this situation has been ongoing for a few weeks now. No-one seems to know when, or if, it will be available again.

This is terrible!

"They" will do and have done anything and everything they can to deprive people of T3... because 'they',,, that little gaggle of endos - determined to 'prove' [ha, I wish they could prove something!] that their little pet theories are 'right'... sick, Sick and SiCKER still.

So this is their doing? Could they successfully keep us from accessing it from Mexico for good?

I suppose it could be if you believe in conspiracy theories.

Personally, because Cynomel has been unavailable in the past, I can't remember the reason but it was unavailable for a couple of years I believe (before I used T3 so not really up to speed on it), then I believe it's something to do with Grossman and production.

SeasideSusie, I can't abide trivial, spite-ridden 'conspiracy theories'. However, conspiracy does go on around people much of the time in their everyday life... and that's often just 'friends and family', lol - seriously. There has been/still is a concerted effort to 'Stop NDT and T3' from within the 'Endocrinology Fraternity'... you must surely be aware of that!? :-) Do you envisage that the HUGE rise in T3cost was somehow accidental?

Cynomel WAS unavailable a few years back due to authorities, apparently via USA, doing something to halt production. A whole new factory/production was set up and people were told that there would no further halts to liothyronine - let's face it, it's a huge seller for them - and, just as our industries [err, how many people know that the UK is the biggest exporter of medicinal cannabis... in the world!?] and no one wants to lose business.

NO - I'm not insinuating any conspiracy at all - it is suffice to say that there is a band of endos out there who do not want patients to take T3. Simple.

I was told it's a production delay and supply is expected in November (I was earlier told, September)..not totally convinced but fingers crossed.

I've done some research and it seems this has happened in the past and that production did re-start.

Meantime we are all left hanging on a cliff edge...

I have reached the stage of being almost lost for words to express my feelings about this bloody awful debacle. My language is deteriorating as rapidly as my expectations that "their" massively inflated egos will eventually burst, reveal their ignorance and and provide a resolution.

I'm becoming more and more convinced our treatment (or lack of it) by the NHS borders on criminal neglect.

Sorry...another rant brought on by the sight of my (our) diminishing supply of T3

You've expressed my rant for me. ;-) I'm in the same position as the OP. Suddenly, it seems, there's no T3 to be had anywhere, unless you can afford the full market rate and/or a private prescription. I'm down to my last few weeks' supply.

It's extremely frustrating and it feels truly cruel. I just went through this with WP thyroid/naturethroid. And then when it finally came back in stock, it was crap potency.

My supplier (legal and a pharmacist) who had a license for Cynomel explained. She was not going to go back in March as Grossman have to extend their licence each couple of years. For the building. Between her Greek / English and Spanish she understands that they did not have their licence renew. This is down to safety checks for workers. It’s not manufactured all year round. 3 ‘batches’ are made annually. If they are not allowed to operate from the building they have to dismantle everything. Store machinery etc. Find a new building. Apply for new licences. Find staff. Train staff. Start production. Mexico is not a first world country for them to stipulate how long licenses take and also building regulations to be dealt with quickly.
