I have hashis and have been on various variations of meds and never felt well

When I wa on 50 t4 and 1/2 grain NDT my results were

T4 22.w ( 12- 22 )

T-SHIRT 0.18 ( 0.27- 4.20 )

T3 7.26 ( 3.1- 6.8 )

I have been trying to self medicate and my last results on 75 t4 and 1/2 t3 were

Ref range same as above

T4 16.2

T3 3.4

T-shirt 1.28

I have now started on 100 t4 and 5mcg thybon

Not sure if this is adequate

Any help would be appreciated 😒

Hiya

Right

What brand and what dose of NDT were you taking?:you say you were on T4 plus NDT.

NDT is not T3 it's basically a mixture.

So tell us exactly the brand and dose and we'll do the maths for you

There is an error in my post.. I was on 1 grain westhroid + 50 of eltroxin when my levels were over the range so that's why I think the 9 of t3 in the grain is too much for me as I wasn't sleeping when on it. With the thybon it's 20 mcgs so difficult to split in smaller doses. Could I take the thybon every second day? Yes I have Hashis. Does there need to be a certain ratio of t4 and t3 or just go by how you feel. I feel bad for so long 13 years I don't know what normal is anymore

Hi

Don't take T3 every other day.. that's not the way to use it.. it works immediately so lots of people split it into tiny bits and take it through the day.

Confused as to why you were on NDT plus T3.. are you self medicating?

do you have evidence that you don't convert well?

Have you ever felt good on any combination and what was it?

I wasn't on NDT and t3 I'm talking about the 9 mcgs in the grain of NDT That I was on with the 50 of t4. I have never felt well on any combination but dosing was exacerbated by having a fib and doc not wanting to give too much t3. Have had a successful ablation since and I don't think suppressed tsh was the problem.I am self medicating to a degree. The doc I attend is happy for me to do that and keep testing He dismisses thyroid as my main problem but I think it's huge hence trying to sort it myself

Right then

If you think the T3 is too much split it up or cut it out

if you have antibodies and you have Hashimoto's then you may want to consider

1. diet - no gluten or dairy

2. vitamins and minerals, selenium vitamin C, vitamin D, B complex, Magnesium, Iodine

3. Alcohol intake

All of these can affect how you feel and we all have to work out what's good for us and I'm afraid it changes once you think you've got it nailed

but don't give up we're all here to help

How are you doing on the diet, vitamins and alcohol front? is there anything you can do to give yourself a better chance of your medication working?

I have a toxic goiter my tsh is up and down I have hashimotos. You can get an inflammation of your thyroid which can resolve on its own. You need to see an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid conditions
