Quizable Results confused

Hi, hope you're all feeling as well as can be expected.

I'm feeling a bit brighter now at home resting.

There's been many tests of late. Without going in to too much detail I will just mention the one which the title relates too.

I'm confused by my INR result. It's the first time I've knowingly had it done. My TSH was lowest it's been since I was diagnosed with sub clinical hypothyroidism 14 years ago TSH 2. My dose of Levothyroxine was increased from 50mcg to 74mcg.

Since, my blood pressure has been fluctuating between very high and very low, only 5% of my readings have been within range.

GPs and nurses have been sending me to hospital after abnormal ECG readings and on seeing my results on consultants screen ioticed a new one... INR and result was 0.9

So naturally been interested I looked it up and I know pulmonary embolism was expected but that result was ok middle of the range. Can remeber what the APPT was. However from what I can understand from the medical jargon 0.9 is a low INR and besides which I'm not on warfarin or any blood thinners.

Report said no further intervention needed on this occasion as patient is already referred back to cardiology. This is to the chest pain clinic for a stress test. Consultant heard a third heart sound.

I don't really know what's going on with my body but although my TSH has gone down which I took as a good thing, I think there is more strain on my heart and I'm generally feeling a lot more unwell. Any clues anyone? Maybe someone had similar situation.

I'm only 50 but have a family history of heart disease..

Best healthy wishes to you my ever supportive HU buddies.

When I was on levothyroxine I had constant palpitations particularly in the middle of the night. I had many ECGs too but nothing showed up.

However when I switched from levo to T3 I've had no problems since. Of course that doesn't mean everyone is the same.

I'm wondering about doing the same. However last time my free triothyroxine was measured was 2014 at which time it was only just outside range. Maybe I will drop down to 50 from 75 levo. As I wasn't having such fluctuating BP then. Are you doing better now? My gps don't test for T3 routinely and don't do any other hypothyroidism treatment apart from levo apparently due to budget.

If you are in the UK, TSH and T4 are the standard tests. No FT4 or FT3 - this is an explanation from TUK about the latter two.

Ooh interesting, some info there I've not seen before.

INR, international normalized ratio, is only relevant if you are on Warfarin, (anticoagulant).

Does that mean it's ok to be 0.9? Hep b and c were tested too but aren't showing results on my medical record. I've read INR is tested for liver problems too.
