Hello, I’m very excited as my ndt is here. I e had private bloods done and bought a bp and pulse monitor as well as a thermometer for making sure I’m ok in the switch. Currently on 150 levothyroxine and wondered if thoughts are take 0.5 grain AM and another 0.5 grain PM for the first week ? PleAse advise!

You can switch from levo to any NDT in the equivalent amount you were taking. of levo As far as I know NDT is measured in grains and the following is an 'equivalnt' conversion even though it doesn't state Thyroid-S but it should still be very similar in its effect.

Take pulse/temp before beginning and keep an eye on both whilst changing over. If either goes too high, drop to previous dose and that should be your optimum.

I reduced Levo by 25mcg and added 1/4 grain thyroidS and kept going in that manner increasing as advised by the guide. You don’t need to bother with the Levo at all it has such a long half life. I was just apprehensive and did it so I could reverse back to Levo if it did not suit me. I never reversed and I never looked back I feel much better on ThyroidS than I ever did on Levothyroxine. The improvements were immediate even on 1/4 grain starters I react rapidly to any medication (it is in my genetics according g to 23&me)
