I’ve been using one of the Optibac ones - it just says For every day on the blue tub. They aren’t particularly expensive but the seem to be as good as the very expensive ‘live in the fridge’ ones that I used to use. My husband took one that the make that is intended to be taken along with antibiotics and was pleased with them too. What I really like is that because they aren’t refrigerated I can put them into my pill box with the day’s pills and I never forget to take them.

I’m sure you will get lots of suggestions though, there are a lot of probiotics out there.

There are different types of probiotics, so it depends what you're trying for. There's some info in the different types about half way down this article:

Most people tend to take the lactobacillus type. Ecogest is a good one, recommended to me by a nutritionist. £15 for 90, and you take 3 a day (1 with each meal).

Another vote here for Optibac. I've used them for years, even before I had a thyroid issue.

As Cooper27 says, theer are different probiotics and they all have different jobs, so it depends if you are looking for help with something specific. Here are some useful articles (there are probably lots more out there)

One article I read mentioned checking the label and only buy where it says something along the lines of it "delivers a potency of XX billion CFUs through to the Best Buy Date". Not all of them guarantee potency until then, and can only guarantee potency at the time of manufacture. Also consider that they need to reach the digestive tract and not be destroyed by acid on the way.

Apparently you should ring the changes with the strains but I buy a multi-strain one. I've been happy with this one:

Thank you for all your responses. I have Hashimoto' and a Hiatus Hernia so I was looking for something that would help repair my gut along with everything else I am doing.

Another Optibac fan here. I've only just started taking the ones for antibiotics but they've undone the damage in just 2 days.
