Thank you Irina - we are safe and a long way from the most serious fire. What a terrible tragedy on the mainland. We are scorching here too and the helicopters that fight fires are busy carrying water from the sea to the fires. Have been hosing around the house to keep things cool and a sub-mersible pump at the ready to use the pool water if needed ... Hope all is on the up for you ... ♡♡
On the day, it was windy which meant the sea was also rough and a group of people who had gone into the sea for safety kept together but were taken by the tide to quite a distance away.
It is terrifying if anyone is in such a situation and happening during the the night means a bigger disaster.
Definitely. Re Greece - I said 'tide' when I should have said by strong waves because Greece has no tide. How scary would that be, i.e. been caught by flames or drowning. I think all of those who've survived in this catastrophe will never recover.
