I’m addressing thyroid meds, slowly increasing and addressing adrenal issues. Have been feeling noticeable improvements going from bed/ house bound to doing lots more, though cautious with rest and not overdoing it. I still don’t feel fully well and know I have a long way to go yet but does anyone get days where all of a sudden you just feel horrendous? I know the pattern of recovery isn’t always an upward trajectory but can anyone relate? Woke up this morning with extreme fatigue and malaise today after a week of doing pretty well, feeling more energy etc. Just having a sofa day and trying to be kind to myself. Is this the norm until I am optimal with labs?
Thanks x

Hi Dee8686, yes I think it’s normal if you’re not optimal. Perhaps you did more because you were feeling well? Also, it’s possible that you’re going down with a cold, bug, infection which your body is trying to fight off with depleted thyroid resources. Just hang on in there, keep taking the tablets, rest when you need to. I’d just perhaps keep a record of when it happens and check that the incidence isn’t increasing. Perhaps you’re due a dose increase?
Thank you- it’s overwhelming fatigue today. Yes I’ve been raising but I guess I’ve gone from nothing to doing more so perhaps that along with not being optimal has caused it. It does happen fairly often. Have increased my Levo again today so hopefully optimal isn’t too far away now... long old process this! Thank you for your reassurance. It feels never ending sometimes!
I can't add anything to Aurealis' reply but just wanted to let you know that I'm exactly the same. Hang in there (and I'm saying that to myself too lol)
I think it's normal even if you are optimal. Everyone gets off days. I've been doing brilliantly well this week, until this morning. Had to have a nap this afternoon, and wouldn't have left my bed this morning if I hadn't had things to do. Just feel like putty, right now, counting the hours until I can decently go to bed!
