I want great care.

I want great care is a website on which you can review doctors and give very honest appriasals online. I am really encouraged to see its availability and want to encourage people to review both good and bad doctors for the world to see. It is about time.

You can also look up doctors to see reviews before youmake appointments. I think all the doctors in the country are on there. There are lots not yet reveiwed though but I am sure we have a few tales to tell.

I will post about this ever so often as I feel it is important that we an have information about the people incharge of our health.

We are not allowed to talk about doctors online but we can send private messages to others to make comments. Or we can say things like Has anyone has a consultation with Dr X, comments by PM only and the admins will stop anymore comments to ensure that happens.

We are allowed to talk about doctors online but not on this forum which is fine.On this 'I want great care', website youcan say what you like within reason. It is very usefull and I havefound a really good doctor I might ask my GP to reffer my child too. I dont think I am communicating very well.

You are communicating fine. It is just that our rules about doctors' names cannot be posted without their express permission, even if good. I hope you get referred to the one you wish to for your child. Always go the extra step.

The main point and most important one is that you can read about doctors on the site you posted.

A Which for doctors ! Well I can see many legal problems with that idea.

in reply to Treepie

No legal problems take a look. It has been set up by a doctor and endorsed by the government. You can review any service and goods online no reason for doctors to be exempt. You could potentially be sued for libel if you lied and they could prove it, But you can and should be able to reveiw doctors in the same way as abook from amazon.Take a look. It is fab and has the potentail to name and shame bad doctors who might struggle to change jobs or get promotion if they get severla bad reviews. This is much more powerful than any petition.

Interesting, but one wonders how accurate and honest reviews will be.

We certainly need this information as the NHS is not as wonderful as its many supporters seem to think.

Quote:-

In these modern times of fast paced media feeds and an ever increasing connection with the media through technology, it has become necessary for those in the public eye to make statements and comments more often. With this need comes the increase in the use of something called 'rhetoric'. The word 'rhetoric' is a noun that describes the use of words and phrases in a hollow, insincere way while sounding genuine on the surface. The clever use of words which appear on the surface to be sincere and genuine, but are in fact the opposite. A question that is put forward or asked without a reply being needed is a rhetorical question. You ask the question, without needing a reply or answer. ''Why does it always rain when I want to go for a walk?'' There is no need to answer that question, it's rhetorical. A persuasive statement that appears to have meaning by using common figures of speech can be described as rhetoric. Politicians and authority figures often use rhetoric to put a positive spin on something. The use of rhetoric is seen as a negative thing. To make promises and set goal that clearly won't be kept or achieved, is to use rhetoric...rhetoric, rhetorical.

Thank you for this link fibrolinda . I have just left a review on the site.

Yes had a look at the link but a lot of me doesn't feel comfortable about it. It's similar on NHS sites but they get very little feed back.

in reply to silverfox7

There are lots of peoplegiving feedback but yes still lots of doctors unreviewed. NHSsites are more difficaultand peope feel uncomfortable about reviewing a doctor on a domain run bythe hospital. I will becareful who I review and when incase I have to see them again but almost as vaulable if not more are the good reviews.

Mandyjane well done for bringing this to people's attention! My GP's surgery specifically asks us to comment on them on Iwantgreatcare. This is the quote from their website "The Practice has signed up to a new website for patients who want to share their positive experience at the Practice and provide constructive feedback on the services that we provide. We would be grateful if you would take a few moment to help!" You're absolutely right, it's a properly-run, government endorsed review site which will hopefully help patients choose doctors and give bad doctors something to think about.

I've submitted two reviews today.

One is for outstanding care I got from one of the consultant and the other one about deadbeat endocrinologist from the same hospital.

It went to moderators, will see how much they'll edit my zero recommendation review.

If they do what NHS website moderators do - make it looks like standard of care was fantastic, I won't bother to leave any more reviews. In fact I'll review that site as useless.

in reply to trelemorele

Keep me posted. I have seen some bad reviews on there and a couple of stinkersre some local gyne doctors but would like to hear how you get on.

The review about useless endocrinologist I posted on "I want great care" has never been approved by mods. Not really surprised as they work with and are connected to NHS.

I haven't used any bad language, just reviewed her complete lack of knowledge of endocrine system with examples from my own experience.

She has no reviews!

So there, looks like the one without reviews are BAD doctors.

Not worth time to leave a review unless someone is extremely good.

I'll see if I can leave appropriate review for "I want great care" site.

in reply to trelemorele

I tried to review some old Gps and had to submit for moderation but have not heard anything. Yes a review for this site might be good if it will not allow thyroid patients to be honest about experiance. Swines. I bet they are just picking on us.

I just reviewed " I want great care" on trust pilot.

Looks like I'm.Not the only one in opinion they're biased.

Too good to be true then. Never mind.

Hi,

I must admit I wouldn't like a forum where people could vent about me online. However I have just realized how many we actually do have in the WWW. It's everywhere. Having said that I do appreciate being able to look up doctors on the website we have/had in Australia. It was interesting to see the familiar experiences of others and to realize that it was not just me who had these same problems/concerns with a particular doctor. I was also able to get the name of a highly recommended doctor. However this has now changed as doctors were able to request that their name be removed from the site and "amazingly" you can no longer "find" many names. Also I first saw this site in approximately 2015. A majority of doctors had requested the removal of their names by the end of 2016. When I went to look it up again this year it took me ages to find it. There were pages of funded websites ahead of the required one each warning of the "dangers" of reviewing doctors. It took me a couple of different attempts before I found it again and was able to get the name of a good specialist. We are really kept in the dark with the medical profession.

I'm palpitating at the thought of logging into that website. I must have been seen by at least 50 doctors (GPs, endocrinologists etc), probably nearer 100, over the 35 year period I have been so ill. I am currently so angry at the way I have been treated by all those doctors that I would be scared to even begin to make any comments about them. I would no doubt end up in court and then have a legal battle on my hands.

in reply to marigold22

I dont think a legal battle likey but I am careful not to review any doctors I might ever have contact with in the future.
