Hello, I'm hypo, yet my gp seems to be treating me by, t4/tsh results only. As, my current test last week, on my request, due to being on meds over 2 mo., yet confirmed hypo over 1 yr ago. 60mg to 50 mg (reducing) meds when tsh=7.8 (?) Should be going up? Bloodwork requested, t4/tsh only! When I asked for full list(everything this site asks for) I do know from this site/online that Mexican, regenerus r sites looking at, dhea, cortisol, adrenals. Does, anyone know of a site in USA, that might check for everything? Or, 1 or 2 to keep the expense down to check all? If I check all, bring to my primary gp with number proof in medical terms, she'll increase, knowing I'm serious.

Please, USA patients do you know of a site I can print/provide number proof of thyroid,t3,t4,adrenal for BEST health requirements? I haven't been aware of this site/my health, please help me, help my doctor.

Thank you, so much

Hi I am in the UK so not much help to you, I know you must be feeling unwell etc but before you panic take a deep breath and do the following. Your TSH is not in the range it should be to feel the optimum benefit of Thyroxine. 7.8 is not that bad as we have members here with a TSH of 40 etc. Do you get a copy of your blood works ? If so is there a range for the TSH? Here in the UK I believe its 0.4-5.0 . I have heard that the USA range is slightly different to ours. That’s the first thing to do check what the range is in the USA and go back to your GP and see if that will work. Or change your GP and seek out one that will work with you to get you back to heath. There is a lots out there for adrenal and natural thyroxin but take the easy step first. I will say it take about 6 months to get better and to get the body back in to shape.

Kind regards John C

Hi there it depends which state you live in, but you can book onLine to find the cheapest rates and order blood draw at Quest or Lab Corp or you can do walk-in at local hospital - they should have a list of what you can order

Hope this helps

For adrenals and thyroid, I go through Ultalabs. They’re associated with stop the thyroid madness and offer great package deals at a reasonable price. You can order the yourself and share with your Dr.

Hi Beachytoes. I am in the US and I get the "Complete Thyroid Panel" through "True Health Labs". They are in Georgia, you buy a Purchase Order via the Internet and go to any Quest lab closest to you (they honor that PO), and you get your blood test. I have found them excellent, a complete thyroid panel costs around $280, a bit expensive but once you know what is going on you only need this test once every year or even less. I can't recommend them highly enough, it is how I survive. I let my doc do his TSH and T4, get my prescription of NDT and take what I need, not what he prescribes. (Full disclosure: He prescribes 1.25 and I take 1.5 grains).

The secret is to read up on this subject and learn every thing you can. You will end up knowing more than your doc. If you follow your doc's advice you will probably feel ill for the rest of your life and die prematurely. I have no thyroid (following thyroid cancer) I am on NDT and I ride my bike 4 miles almost every day - good health can be achieved, hang in there, read as much as you can and ask questions on this forum.
