Added T3

Hello - a week or so ago I added T3 to my T4, a 1/4 of a tablet so around 6.25mcg. I felt a wee bit ‘buzzy’ but no palpitations or anything. I’m going to increase my dose this week to half a tablet so 12.5mcg.

Is this too big an increase? Scared to feel wired and panicky on the dose.

Don’t feel much different yet, does it take time to kick in?

Thanks xx

what were your blood results for TSH, T4 and T3 before taking the T3? Have you got antibodies and what are your blood levels of Vit B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate?

So yourT3 is on low side and TSH too high for someone on levo. Maybe an increase in levo to get TSH down and possibly raise T3. Are you on gluten free diet for the Hashis? It made a difference to me. I had below half way T4 and T3 and very suppressed TSH (GP in meltdown) on 100mcg levo and still symptomatic. I have been taking 6.25mcg T3 for last 5 months (sourced myself) and it has made a difference, improved my symptoms. Still think I could maybe take a bit more but when I increased to 12.5mcg after 3 months my T3 went over range and I didn't feel as good so went back to 6.25mgc after 4 weeks..

I’ve been gluten free for about three weeks now, almost a month. Haven’t felt that much different yet but persevering!

I haven’t felt a great deal better on the 6.25mcg T3 so thought maybe increasing it would maybe help? Just scared I’ll end up totally wired 😂

Allow up to 3 months to feel a difference with GF diet. I also went dairy free after a while, that helped too. I do now use Arla lactofree products

In spite of all the reading I had done I found it scary to try T3 but just thought the best way was to go slowly and check bloods at each change of dose. Finger prick bloods are a great help. I am definitely a lot better than I would have been if I had listened to GP's. T3 doesn't stay in system long so you can easily drop back on your dose if you feel "wired"

Thank you for replying, I’ll give the increase a wee shot and see how I go. Thanks! X
