Hi,
I am on Armour at the moment. I used to thrive on Armour but I bought it from US. Is the Irish/Uk Armour different? Is there gluten in it? I feel depression, like I do if I ingest gluten. or on Levo...help! I need the T3
Thanks!

There is no Irish/UK Armour. There is only one Armour, the one you have been having from the US. There are other brands of NDT though

Hi, I wasn't sure about possible batches...like, perhaps the US still has old Armour, whereas I know it was sold a few years ago& possibly changed! I'm hopeful that is not the case, since Armour usually works v well for me.
The Armour company had been owned by Forest for years. In 2014, Forest was acquired by Actavis. Then Actavis acquired Allergan and promptly changed their name to Allergan.
There is only one Armour Thyroid. Armour is not supplied by Allergan (or Forest) to Europe. We in Europe simply get the same Armour as is sold in the USA sent by one or other distributor.
Of course, batches can vary. And for as long as I can remember, there have been ongoing discussions about whether Armour has changed, whether it is as good as it used to be, etc. But I don't think there is any reason whatsoever to think Armour obtained within Europe is different to Armour in the USA.
I was on Armour, but the last time I went to pick it up, my pharmacist said he was substituting it with one called "Nature Throid." He said it's the same thing..only MUCH CHEAPER!!! He was right and I feel absolutely no difference. I'm glad to be saving the $$.
Yes, for some reason unknown to me, Armour tripled in price a few years back. As a result, all the Hertoghe doctors in Belgium who used to prescribe it switched their patients to Erfa. I think all brands of NDT are basically the same, meaning they all contain thyroid hormones in a fixed ratio, and only the fillers differ. Great to hear you are doing so well on another, much cheaper brand of NDT!
Erfa is good but contains sugar, which doesn't work for me. (Tiny bit)
