Armour: I was on Armour but it completely stopped... - Thyroid UK
Armour
Me but changing it shortly too expensive now
The STTM website has info on a change to the formulation of Armour in about 2014 or 2015 :

If Armour isn't working for you then you could experiment with different brands if your doctor will change your prescription.
Another possibility, and an easy experiment to try, is to change the way you take it. I can think of three ways to take any pill :
1) Swallow it whole.
2) Stick it under the tongue or between teeth and cheek and allow it to dissolve.
3) Chew it up and swallow it.
Changing the way you take it may make no difference. But it is an easy fix if it works.
How did it stop working can you explain? Is it in labs or how you feel
I feel dreadful. I'm not taking anything right now but ive ordered Erfa, to see if it will help. It could be adrenal related.
Change in formulation? I wish I knew!
That too
I was on the same dose for too long.. Without raising, as necessary..You know how it is with GP's..
Hi Purrjones, I would be interested to know what your symptoms were at the point you decided Armour stopped working for you. I have been taking Armour for 20 years and started having problems about 18 months ago, e.g. Adrenaline rush soon after taking my first dose in the morning, with slight tremor. I've also noticed slight ringing in my ears (mild tinnitus) and I had read on this site that someone else couldn't stay on Armour because it caused tinnitus. I've had to change the way I dose and now split into three through the day. Did you change from Armour and have you had any success with another brand. I personally would like to try WPThyroid and stay on bio identical medicine, but maybe, according to Chris Kresser, I should be looking at Thyroxine?
