How low is low?

Normally a good B Complex containing methylfolate will raise folate level, eg Thorne Basic B or Igennus Super B.

They recommended to buy a folate supplement over the counter.. Thank you for your info and help kind regards

Was your B12 definitely over 500? And was folate under range or just low in range?

Jarrow Formulas methylfolate is my favourite. You need to get the actual numbers, as folate needs to be half way through the range or higher and B12 needs to be over 500, not just in range. If they are both low you need to be tested for pernicious anaemia and you mustn't supplement folate (or B12) until after the test.
