I just received a phone call from Endo (NOT MY ENDO) telling me I need to reduce my Cytomel from 15mcg to 10mcg BECAUSE MY APRIL numbers are bad (I did not ask for a phone call or even call that office) he stated if I stay with this dose it could cause heart disease (THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED WITH My HEART DISEASE My cholesterol levels have continued to go up after my thyroidectomy) and they didnt even flinch at those numbers. Im shocked that this person would call me argue at me about my medication that he didn't prescribe I'm scheduled to do bloodwork next month anyway, now I'm doing it tomorrow because he's so worried about my heart.....lmao
Below are the numbers that numb skull is freaking out about.
I take 100mcg synthyroid and 15mcg Cytomel. I'm shocked by the phone call attack.
FT3: 1.23 ........ (0.93 -1.7)
FT4: 2.980 ...... (2.0 - 4.4)
TSH: 0.076 ...... (0.27 - 4.20) ...... low because of cancer
Your FT3 and FT4 are in range and not even at the top of the range so what is he worried about? My TSH is 0.05 and no one has told me to reduce my dose!
I am not a dr but you results dont look anything to get excited about, especially by someone who is not your endo, how strange and very rude. My husbands buddy is a cardiologist and he said the years of my being under medicated will have done more harm to my heart than taking t3 for the rest of my life could and i trust him more than anyone else on the subject. Since starting t3 only, I am on 75-100 daily, I have had all the ecg's and tests and my heart is now much stronger, under medicated my heart was weak with resting heart rate average 50 bpm and it was not because i am as fit as Mo Farrah!
I would insist on a conversation with your endo and i would say you never wish to speak to the other one again as he/she is rude and unprofessional, its not exactly good for us when someone tries to put the fear of god into us and cause anxiety.
to me it looks like your T4 is a little low, others are in range; I would suggest you totally ignore this endo, and in fact perhaps you could query why he has access to your records without your permissions, plus your personal details such as telephone number. He could have accessed these illegally. He also sounds like he's on a personal vendetta, maybe against your actual endo, maybe against the world, so I would query everything.
I was just about to say the same - why does he have access to your records??? I’d be straight back on the phone to your Endocrinologist’s secretary to find out what’s going on
Well looks like he has no idea that results are read differently when taking any form of T3. TSH should be suppressed, FT4 can fall lower and FT3 should be high in range! Your FT3 is low and you could try a little more!
So complain and stick with the person you trust. Even if your own expect is sick and not in work he should at least explained who he is and why he is ringing you!
Lodge a formal complaint, he is not your endo therefore he has no right to contact you and abuse you.
I'm heading over to the Endo office today and will be speaking with the head of the department. I had this Endo as a doctor before but I fired him over 6 months ago and never heard from him again, until yesterday. I fired him because him and I are like oil and water we just don't mix I want a partner in my medical care not a dictator and he's a dictator his personality is "I have a medical degree I'm smarter then you" personality and Im the kind of person thats lived in this miserable body for 48yrs and Im telling you im at peace with my current treatment.
Bottom line is they are worried about Dexa scan results (I have osteopenia) not thyroid treatment induced I had hysterectomy 24 yrs ago and ive used for many years steroids for faulty immune system. I will post my visit.
I got osteoporosis after mine, it sucks, always afraid they would snap! They tried to put me on meds for it and they clash with your thyroid meds so that kind of sucked too! However I read somewhere that if you take a daily calcium supplement with vitamin K2 the calcium goes to your bones instead of to your body. Of course you have to ensure you are getting calcium to the rest of your body too, so I went vegan (mostly vegan, occasionally I have a sticky bun treat) and my bones have not deteriorated at all in 2 years, doctors a bit surprised to say the least.
14 years NOT 24 yrs ....for hysterectomy
Has anyone heard of SILENT HYPERTHYROIDISM? He kept regurgitating this about my levels??? I did make separate post.
If I have no Thyroid does "SILENT" Still apply? My TSH is kept low for cancer reason.
Why tell us before reporting him first to the authority. I would not take this from him and nor should you it's disgusting.

I vented here first because it had just happened. I will be reporting him today when I go to the Hospital.
Ok I understand, you can you perhaps see why I never visit the Doctors or Endos at all.
Update: I filed my complaint about this bossy endocrinologist that is NOT my doctor to the head of the endocrinology depart. I told her I don't appreciate being harassed on the phone by and endo that has no business getting into my health and that I never called. She stated he is temporarily taking over for my doctor while she is on baby leave. First off I told her he never said he was my doctors temporary fill in he just barked orders at me like I was 5 yrs old and that it doesn't matter I want no further contact from him we just don't mix and that working with a doctor is a suppose to be a partnership in my healthcare not a dictatorship he needs retraining.
For now on I will get my test results and appointments with a Physician Assistant until my Doctor returns in Sept. The crazy about this is all my test results have always fallen into the lab ranges and up until now no one would give my complaints one thought other then to tell me YOUR FINE YOUR NUMBER ARE IN RANGE now they are in range but too high....idiots!
