Years after partial thyroid surgery

Hi everyone

My thyroid was over active 40 years ago, this led to a partial thyroid removal.

Now, all these years down the line, I’m feeling “out of sorts” loads of symptoms, weight gain, lethargic, brain fog, aches and pains....

Basic blood test shows TSH 3.6

Just wondering if anyone else has had a reverse reaction after partial surgery ?

Many thanks for reading 😉

It would seem to me obvious that you would, because you no-longer have as much thyroid to make hormones. A TSH of 3.6 is hypo, even though it probably isn't over-range. You would probably feel better on thyroid hormone replacement. :)

I had a partial op and was fine for 30 odd years then went overactive again so quite possible to go either way many years later.
