You need to know which antibodies were tested and what the range was. Ask them to print it out or write it down for you.

"Normal for patient" sounds like a meaningless phrase, probably neatly designed to avoid having to offer you treatment on the basis that they don't actually know what to do. (or am I being cynical?)

Ah, that new disease Health Anxiety. HA for short. If you have it really badly you have a double dose, then you have ha ha. At least then you can laugh at your doctor and tell him that it was his diagnosis, not yours.

made me quite mad actually

i know i worry lots about all these symptoms but rather than saying i have this new disease HA they shuld be running tests that will reassure me that im ok....allso treating the thyroid properly

i dont even go to drs now would be just a waste of time

but this was my nice supportive dr :(

I'm not surprised it made you mad. It seems to be their way of saying "I've given you a diagnosis so I don't have to do any more tests. Go away."

My gp rang me a few weeks ago about my blood pressure medication. I told him I'd like to talk to him about something else. He said I could talk about it next time I came to see him. I said "I wasn't planning to come soon" and narrowly, and I do mean narrowly, avoided adding "if I can help it". I literally had to bite my tongue.

And like yours, this GP is nice.

seems all drs turn nasty with thyroid peeps

ive had a few tongue biting moments in my time

one dr told me to stop making things up to get medication

another dr said there was nothing in thyroxine to make me ill because she was on it and had never been ill

i didnt bite my tongue on this visit, my oxygen levels were dropping on my oximeter, he put his on my finger and said 'you have to breath' i looked at him and said 'i f.......am breathing' he says 'see your oxygen is fine' i looked at him and said 'everything allways f.....fine when im here' and walked out

I think they sometimes get fed up with us appearing in the surgery often and try to think of something that will 'reassure' us and instead it worries us even more.

its wrong

i thought they were supposed to help us

They are dealing with hormone deficiencies so appear to have studied nothing but the whereabouts of the 'dot' where the TSH falls and diagnose or not, if they take a blood test in the first place. :)

I don't know where you are or what you had tested? The ranges vary but 800 sounds pretty high to me. I had tpo antibodies of 49 with a range of 0-9.
