Are you diagnosed with a thyroid condition and on any thyroid meds? There is nothing in your profile or your post to give us that information.

If not diagnosed hypothyroid, then you are 0.4 off the magic number 10 for TSH that most doctors require to diagnose it. However, your TSH is so high that it would be cruel for any doctor not to now diagnose and prescribe Levothyroxine due to it being your second test and your TSH has risen so much.

Hi, its a long story. I have a large unhealing leg ulcer, I asked for my b12 to be checked as I have many symptoms which suggested that, that was in range. I have nerve pain around the ulcer and it was the neuro that requested these bloods.

I'm diagnosed with with anything apart from the ulcer at the moment.

Many doctors tell us, after we've had blood tests, that they are 'normal' as they are in range.

Normal, fine or o.k. are useless as we need to ask or a print-out of our results every time we have a blood test and make sure ranges are stated.

To get the best response when having a blood test for thyroid hormones is that the blood draw has to be at the very eartliest, Fasting (you can drink water and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of thyroid hormones and the test and take afterwards.

B12 and Vit D need to be optimal - not somewhere in the range. These are prohormones. Was your B12 nearer 1,000 as that is the recommendation of the P.A. Assocition.

OK, so with a TSH of 9.6 then you need to push for a diagnosis and be started on Levo. Let us know how you get on.

Hi

Vit D wasn't tested, I will ask for that. B12 was 314 (220-700) .

As my symptoms included Neuro symptoms I argued the B12 needed looking into, it got me nowhere but bloods for another Infection in the ulcer has showed the higher TSH level.

Not what you're looking for?
