Thyroid test urine tract infection

Is it ok to have a Tsh, ft4 and ft3 test done when I have a urine infection? Got it today and will hopefully get antibiotics tonight and have a planned blood test tomorrow morning. Will my results be true?

When people are looking for a diagnosis, if TSH comes back high the test is always repeated after 3 months, diagnosis is never given on first high TSH result. This is because non-thyroidal illness can cause TSH to be raised. I know you're not looking for a diagnosis but taking that into account, I would imagine your infection may have an effect on your results and personally I would be inclined to wait until you have finished your antibiotics and are well and truly over the infection.

But that's just my opinion, others may think differently.

Well, given how slowly TSH changes, and that your infection only started today, I wouldn't think it has had time to affect your levels, yet.
