I have not posted before, I have had my bloods done by a private GP, I have been self medicating with T3, I’ve been doing well but now I’ve not been feeling so well. The private GP is happy to take my bloods etc but just tells me to take the T3 as per my symptoms. I only take 25mg of T3 each day, spread throughout the day, but I’m very dizzy and don’t know if it needs to go up or down. Any help or advice will be very much Appreciated.
Free T4 8.4, TSH 1.45, T3 1.6
Low vitamin D at 30
B12 423
The GP recommend B12 tablets and Vit D supplements.
Thank you

Hi, I never got a printout of results. I revived and email and this is what she said. Free T4 8.4 ref range 0.35-5.00 TSH normal & T3 normal at 1.6 ref range 0.9-1.6. This is all I got along with a note to say go to boots for supplements and take the recommended dose.
The range you have posted first - 0.35-5.00 is the range for TSH so if your TSH is 8.4 then it is OVER range. So what were the supplements and was was the recommended dose ?
If the 8.4 is the FT4 - then it is way below most ranges
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting.
If on Levothyroxine, don't take in the 24 hours prior to test, and if on T3 don't take in 12 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).
About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's. Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's. Food intolerances too, especially gluten and/or dairy. So it's very important to get antibodies tested.
