I think it unlikely you have been scammed.

Have you got a tracking number? Have you tried it?

Unfortunately Royal Mail doesn't guarantee anything. I've used their Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day by 1pm, handed over the counter by 3pm at my local post office, and it's taken 48 hours to reach it's destination.

I've just had something delivered this morning that was posted on the 3rd April.

I'm sure that your items are on their way and will probably arrive on Monday now. If not then ring the pharmacy, they will be able to track it from the tracking number on their receipt.

If it doesn’t arrive by the stated time then you can reclaim the full cost of postage.

Yes, I've frequently claimed the cost of the Special Delivery when it's failed. Failure rate currently stands at 50%!

Recorded delivery is just first class with a signature on receipt. It's called 'Royal Mail Signed For' and that's all it offers, a signature. Usually first class arrives the next day, although 'sent on Thurday' usually means late Thursday, i.e. effectively Friday.

Royal Mail service was repeatidly downgraded to aid privatisation. First they got rid of second and third deliveries (a wag wrote to the FT that the first delivery was cancelled in their area, they only get the second delivery). Now they have moved forward the collection times to mid-afternoon. So, 'next day' can mean 48 hours.

Tollesbury Pharmacy are in Maldon,Essex and are a reputable pharmacy.

Yes ,I would give them a ring.

Yes I have had meds from them in the past and found them to be very helpful indeed. Hope it turns out OK for you but do phone them, they are very nice

The chap and his staff at Tollesbury Pharmacy are more than helpful, so I am sure you have not been scammed. I have used them quite a few times, but as they are within travelling distance of me, I have collected things in person. As SeasideSusie says, the hold-up is probably with Royal Mail.

Have you asked for the tracking number and checked on the Royal Mail website? Easy enough to see where your parcel is. Royal Mail are a nightmare. I posted 2nd class at 19.15 it arrived this morning. I’ve posted recorded delivery and it’s taken 5 days.

Simple to find out. 1st Class is 1-3 days. 2nd Class 3-5 days. It’s a guideline and not considered lost for 14 working days. You might have a relief post person that’s slower than your regular postie.
