I’ve run out of NDT!!!

Hi,

I’ve been on NDT for about 10 years, I used to have armour prescribed by my GP but when I moved house my new doctors said no. So I bought from the internet. Armour then naturetheoid, and eventually to thyroid s.

I’ve been taking thyroid-s 3 grains at bedtime for the last 3 years, buying online, and been fairly stable but I’ve left it later then usual to order and although I ordered a couple of weeks ago, I found out this morning that it is out of stock and not coming. This is a huge problem since I only have 2 days worth left and this is after rationing for the last week.

I’ve asked for the GP to call today, and suppose I’m going to have to go with my tail between my legs for help, but wonder if there are any other options - been out of the loop for a little while now... and to be honest, I hate having to rely on buying from abroad, I’d much rather have the NHS take proper care of my thyroid health. Thanks! X

I believe that levothyroxine is the only thyroid hormone replacement they will prescribe.

Everyone in the UK that self medicates probably agrees with that 150%. At least you have this forum to run to for help now, which is more than you had ten years ago! 🙃

Thank you so much everyone for your help. A lovely member has rescued me with a short term supply and my NDT supplier has switched me to Thiroyd which I should get next week. Hopefully it will be a crisis averted. Thank you xxx
