Under active thyroid and tamoxifen for breast cancer

Hi

Has anyone else had problems with their thyroid whilst taking tamoxifen or Letrozole?

I've been fine on levothyroxine for years but since I started taking oestrogen removers as part of my cancer treatment I'm suffering with symptoms of my thyroid playing up.

Did you have radiation? My mum was advised to closely monitor her uat after radiation as it can further damage the thyroid and medication requirements might change. Have you been tested since feeling symptomatic?

Tamoxifen and Letrozole may be reducing absorption of Levothyroxine. You should have a thyroid function test to check levels. Try taking Levothyroxine and other meds 2-4 hours apart. You can take Levothyroxine at bedtime if that is easier.
