New Blood Results Are Back - could you please help me to check if they are okay?

4 Replies

Hi everyone,

My tests are back and here they are (taking 2.5 grains Nature Throid for the past 3-4 months):

Ferritin 66 (5-204) - increased since end of January 2018 from 42 (5-204)

TSH 0.006 (0.35-4.94) 0.007 end of January

FT4 = 11.5 (9 -19) decreased from 13.3 end of January

FT3 = 4.48 (2.63-5.7) decreased from 5.65 end of January

TT3 = 1.54 (0.89-2.44) was 1.76 (0.89-2.44) end of January

TT4 = pending

Anti-Thy AB = 13.74 (<4.11) same as Jan 2018

Anti-TPO AB = 836 (<5.61) down from 926 a month ago (diet most likely)

I split NDT into 2 doses: 1.5 morning, 1 late afternoon. I took the last dosage of the day 12 hours before the test.

Any thoughts?

Thanks x

Rita

Tunia,

TSH is very suppressed, FT4 is low in range which is fairly typical for people taking NDT or T4+T3, and FT3 is just under the upper third of range.

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

Ferritin is optimal halfway through range. You can raise ferritin by eating more iron rich food. Liver once a week is a good source of iron.

Hey Clutter,

Thanks. I was told TSH will be very suppressed. The question is if ft3 is okay or should be a bit higher?

Thanks,

Rita

Tunia,

If you feel well then FT3 is fine. If you aren't well there is scope to increase dose by 1/2 grain.

Thanks Clutter! My pulse is better, anxiety better, but a bit tired and the skin is quite dry, I'm training and doing yoga, eating very well, but not losing weight.
