Hi I don't know what they are was told I was normal that was it ! , it was a stand in doctor today as mine had a ermergncy , iv made another appointment for next week to speak with my regular doctor , what should i be looking for and asking for please ?
Pop along to your surgery and ask the receptionist for a print out of your results. Don't accept hand written or verbal results as mistakes can happen, you need them printed. It is our legal entitlement here in the UK to have a copy of our results.
What is diffrent about what your saying it might be please ?
I feel like im banging my head against a brick wall , this has been going on for years , im realy nit sure what to do i cannot afford private , the thing that realy worries me is the massive jump in my chlostrol
Thank you
You're legally entitled to a copy of your blood test results, contact the Practice Manager and don't be fobbed off. Never believe a doctor when they say "normal" cos when it comes to hypothyroidism they don't have a clue.
Until results are to hand it's best not to speculate surely.
I do think that for a new member it can be awfully confusing with all this terminology. It's bad enough being failed by a clueless GP so just trying to keep it simple, as also suggested by SeasideSusie , and obtaining a copy of the results.
First thing is, do you have any actual blood test results? if not will need to get hold of copies
UK GP practices are supposed to offer online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need enhanced access to see blood results.
In reality many GP surgeries do not have blood test results online yet
Alternatively ring receptionist and request printed copies of results. Allow couple of days and then go and pick up. They can make nominal charge for printing but many will do so for free (£10 max)
As SeasideSusie says, you are legally entitled to printed copies of your own blood test results
