I would be most grateful if you would let me know by private message where I can buy Thyroid S and roughly how much it costs to purchase.
Appreciative thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Marie

Welcome to the forum, RainbowColours.

Hi Clutter, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 1997 by an endocrinologist and was first prescribed Levothyroxine T4, but as it did not clear all my symptoms I was eventually prescribed Armour Thyroid, later to be replaced by Erfa Thyroid. I was referred back to my GP's medical care, who will no longer prescribe me Erfa Thyroid because of subsequent normal blood test results. I in turn became very ill with untreated hypothyroidism, so I managed to purchase T3 over the internet and didn't do so well on that, which I then replaced with Thyroid S. I have been taking 4 x 60 mcg of Thyroid S daily for the last four years and continue to feel fine on that daily dose. In terms of actually obtaining printed out blood test results, this has been somewhat a very stressful ordeal, as GP surgeries that I have requested them from in the past are very reluctant to provide them, if at all. I have a strong feeling that I am either unable to convert T4 into T3 and/or that not all of my T3 is getting into my cells, or being utilized by my cells, which may not always be apparent in blood test results, blood test results which in turn can come back as normal, as in my case. Kind regards, Marie
RainbowColours,
The Data Protection Act entitles patients to their blood test results. If you request results within 40 days of the blood test their should be no charge other than a nominal £1/£2 to cover the cost of printer ink and paper. If your practice won't supply your results make a written subject access request which the practice has to respond to within 40 days. ico.org.uk/for_the_public/t...
Have you had a blood test recently to check FT3 remains within range on 4 grains NDT?
Hi Clutter, My recent thyroid function blood tests came back normal. Marie
Unfortunately taking any for of T3 prevents you from checking if you aren't converting well. However if you have Vit D, B12, folate and ferritin tested and the results aren't optimal that would indicate you are struggling.
Thanks silverfox7 - I didn't know that. I am already being prescribed vitamin B12 injections, which are given once every twelve weeks, as it was found that I had lack of the intrinsic factor, which means that I am unable to absorb vitamin B12. I am led to believe that in the UK vitamin B12 injections used to be prescribed once every eight weeks. I also take daily 10,000 ug of Dibencozide (co-enzyme B12) and 5,000 mcg Methylcobalamin, which is the other co-enzyme form of B12. And I take a vitamin B complex, which contains the other vitamin B's, where I am led to believe that all the vitamin B's should be taken together, as they each help each other to be absorbed by the body. I also take separately 500 mg of Thiamine (vitamin B1) each day, which is a fat soluble form, which put simply is said to significantly enhance energy levels. A deficiency of Thiamine (vitamin B1) can cause fatigue, irritability, depression, brain fog (not always thinking clearly), abdominal discomfort, low blood pressure and low stomach acid. Some years back it was discovered that I had very low vitamin D3 levels. I currently take a daily capsule containing 10,000 iu of vitamin D3. My folate and ferritin levels came back normal in my recent blood test results.
AlwYs good to get them retested though from time to time
Yes, silverfox7 I agree
