B12 recommendations and tooth sensitivity

I've had good advice from posters before about supplementing for vitamin D so I'm happily taking the Doctors best 5000iu D3 capsules at the moment. I would really appreciate a B12 supplement suggestion as well as when to take. Brain fog doesn't help when you're trying to work out when to take what. I'm currently on 125mcg levo which I take at night.

For about 6 months now I've also been suffering with very sensitive teeth. My dentist believes this to be caused by jaw clenching at night (and sometimes during the day too) which is a fairly new thing for me. Apparently stress can make you do this but keen to hear if anyone else with Hashi's sufferers from this too. Sometimes I wish I could pull my teeth out as it's such a distracting pain.

Thanks in advance

Fluoride free toothpaste helps.

You can get a diy tooth guard from Boots at about £25 to create a barrier while you sleep. But it might be caused by stress or anxiety.

Lolabombola,

My dentist made me a mouthguard to wear at night stop me grinding my teeth. My cranial osteopath noticed a big reduction in the temporomandibular joints and neck tension causing me problems.

Jarrow's Formula and Solgar methylocobalamin sublingual lozenges are good.

Teeth clenching and grinding seems to be yet another thyroid symptom.

My dentist advised a made to measure mouth guard (roughly £100)

I was extremely sceptical, but it's astonishingly good. No more headaches, jaw ache and sore teeth

Also reduces wear and tear on teeth and less likely to crack them

Thanks all. Flouride free toothpaste & B12 ordered.

I'm trying to avoid getting a mouthguard but if it's a effective as you say then I'm not sure why I'm so reticent about it.

Weirdly it's nice to know I'm not going crazy with the jaw clenching and it's likely a (yet another) hashi symptom

The Boots one you put in boiling water. Let it cool then bite down for a minute.

@Slowdragon - thank you for that. I was quoted £325 about 20 years ago by my Old Dentist so assumed they’d be as expensive.
