Only really by trying it.
Best way is to cut all dairy out for 6 weeks.
Then you could consider reintroducing limited amount
Eg casein free - any dairy that is not cow derived is casein free (I think)
Then try lactose free cows milk
Also A2 milk is an option
The Thyroid Pharmacist website has masses on dairy intolerance as Izabella is dairy intolerant. Many with Hashimoto's are
I started off gluten free 5 years ago and it really helped reduce my antibodies. After about 5 months I decided to go dairy free and avoided all cheese, milk, cream, yoghurt, butter. It did seem to lead to further improvement.
I used almond, hazelnut, cashew nut and rice milk on cereal and dairy free spread. My biggest problem was not having dairy milk in tea but I stuck with it . Eventually I decided to try Arla lactose free products. Milk, cream, cheddar cheese, soft cheese, butter spread.
Now I only use the lactofree milk in tea and coffee. I eat normal cheddar, parmesan (hard cheeses have virtually no lactose) and I now use organic butter. I am not bothered about yoghurt. The one thing I do miss is cream. Not everyone has Arla lactofree cream and some things are only good with double cream! My daughter sourced some Swedish lacto free double cream so I was able to make some ice cream!. I will not touch soya, so that rules out quite a few dairy free manufactured foods. Also I cannot eat such things as GF lasagne as the sauce is not lactose free. I do make lacto free cheese sauce, bit of a faff for one!
