TPO slightly positive is positive. Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
Thank u it's all new to me trying understand that was letter from hospital no ranges. They don't really explain to u. I still feel rotten a lot can't do what normally can do very frustrating and annoying.
Do u know if groiter will ever go itself? Consultant didn't seem concerned by it but had cough for months and breathless etc
Goitre might shrink a little if you were given Levothyroxine but is unlikely to disappear. I really don't understand why someone with TSH 40, 23 and 8.6 is not prescribed Levothyroxine.
I know the doctor said wud be prescribed something got me into consultant quicker for follow up app but he said it was mild by thyroid levels, I told him all my symptoms still have them even tho he thought was beta blockers my legs really ache constant tiredness that gets me I struggle go out on night I don't in bed early each night don't do much all effort. Feel dizzy times. I'm seeing consultant again march bloods took again then thanks
