Hi, have ordered medicheck thyroid ultravit test kit.
Shall I take results to my GP or go private?
Have lost faith in my GP.

There's no guarantee that your GP will accept the Medichecks test results but it can be a lever. If the results show a problem and your GP dismisses them, then you can ask your GP to do their own tests if they don't like the private ones.
You would have to choose the private doctor very carefully, many of them are NHS doctors doing 'extra' work so will toe the NHS line.
GP, wouldn’t even look at my private blood results, my private Endocrinologist didn’t look at them either.
They just seem hell bent on the TSH ranges only and even when out of range, tell you, you’re ok and it’s all in your head.
Sorry to sound negative, but this is from my own experience.
Best wishes

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm researching trying to work out what to do.
It's a mine field!!
Hope you get yourself sorted.🌻
Both my endo and my GP are very happy to use my private tests.
I haven't had NHS test for over four years
Bring your results here on a new post for advice
Meanwhile email Dionne at Thyroid Uk for list of recommended thyroid specialists

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Thankyou, will do.🌻🌻
