Simply drinking coconut water Probiotic Kefir, which is helping to diminish Candida and thus the voracious sugar demands prompted by the Candida; avoiding potatoes and following a gluten/wheat free regimen...eating everything I normally eat, including full fat goat's yoghurt and black chocolate, I have lost 5.4kilos in 9 weeks, without depriving myself of anything!
I thought it was worth mentioning to my fellow Hashimotos Club!

I’ve just been getting into kefir, kombucha, and the whole probiotic thing, it’s great to hear it’s doing you so much good! I’ve struggling with systemic candida for a while. How much are you drinking and are you buying it or making it?
I make my own coconut water Kefir as I am British Cow Dairy intolerant.
I drink as much as I can make!
I drink a G&T sized glass half hour before breakfast... Then another in the after...then another at around 6pm, before supper.
If you want some of my spare activated grains, PM me your address and I will send some. The postage for 2nd class signed for delivery is £1.86...which comes out to X2 first class stamps and x1 2nd class stamp.
Poppy that's great!! I am so pleased for you . I tried goat kefir but it didn't agree with my Hashi/candida etc. Could you please post a link as to how you make it and where I can get the grains . If I could lose a few pounds and feel better...dream dream
Hi Esther, I would be happy too, but the files with pictures are too big to PM, so I send them direct to email. If you would like to PM your email I would gladly do so.
Your post reminded me it was bottling night. Thanks. I make mine using fitered water, sugar, molasis and treacle. It tastes like beer, as I can no longer tolerate the real thing I really enjoy it. I have about 300ml with every meal, my gut is much better behaved.
I’ve been avoiding sugar in my diet (apart from fruit) for the Candida and because it worsens my symptoms, does it matter that that’s a big ingredient?
I've been at it about 3 months now. It like having a pet, better really, when we go away no kennel fees, just pop it in the fridge. I'm 64 vintage now should rename myself whitebeard.
Terrific. If I feel RT his much improvement in 9 weeks, I'm almost scared to think, what I shall be in 3 months! A friend I sent my grains the o had only been on it for two weeks when she had her bi-weekly blood tests only to reveal that her CRP inflammatory markers were down for the first time in 18 months. She is thrilled, even able to go out and take the dogs for a walk she is feeling so improved! Of course the Consultant dismissed it entirely and admitted to never having heard of Probiotic Kefir reiterating that it was the steroids that had done the trick, to which she replied I hardly think so!!
Remember Led Majors as the Bionic Man . ... closely followed by Lyndsey Wagner the Bionic Woman...well look out, here we come!!
I had my new catalogue the other day (from the kitchen shop whose name sounds like an area in the North of England) and they now do a Kefir kit that makes 6 litres.
Next time I go over to Chichester I’m going to check it out. I damaged my knee a week before Christmas so I’m going cabin crazy atm from staying inside because it’s so painful to walk. The steroid jab the doctor gave me did no good at all. But that’s by the by, just a little moan.
Hi, The files are too big, with photos, so it's best to append them to an email. If you PM yours I will happily share it with you. Do you need some of my spare kefir grains too?
Thank you. I'd happily PM you, but not at all sure how to do it with this new format. Could you PM me your email, and I'll reply...or maybe someone will explain how to PM?
Personally I would prefer to trust my own bathroom scales than scales at a doctor's surgery or in a hospital. I'd be surprised if they were ever tested and re-calibrated.
I found this article which may be of interest - although it is very old and it is from the Daily Mail :
Thanks for the link. The Daily Mail is very good at these sorts of articles. Hopefully the occurrences were isolated. I have found even my own bathroom scales to be on occasion to be somewhat off too...,But needing to tighten my belt by three holes is encouraging enough to me and I am very pleased about it. ☺️
Personally I have always felt stressing about a few increments on a scale of a dial or a readout can be a negative thing and instead just noticing how your clothes fit more loosely, or if you can reach down a little easier; if it's more comfortable to do your boots up, is a gentler and kinder approach to losing weight. In my case none of it has been deliberate. The weight loss has been a bonus, but most welcome at that and I hope others can experience it too in a positive non-expectant way, which curiousity I think is how most things follow...
