Hashimoto's sufferers often have brain involvement. Thyroid hormone is necessary for several parts of brain transmission.

Thank you for sharing this link Heloise, the program brings together a lot of things I have been thinking about and also added some new to me ideas about the affect of low level metal toxins.

Yes, and not everyone can change out amalgam fillings. Maybe I should get dentures, ha. And, also, taking the herbs to draw out heavy metals may just recirculate them. I'll have to look into the DMSA which has been used intravenously for many years. Have you ever heard of zeolite?

I saw your profile and see you have muscle issues. I think those are the first symptoms of low thyroid but not detected for quite awhile. My legs are weak and I've been trying to do stair exercises but I noticed Dr. Wahls segment (she has the MS) and she mentioned taking creatine so I looked it up. It's a body builders supplement so it obviously affects the muscles.

"Creatine supplementation appears to increase the number of myonuclei that satellite cells will 'donate' to damaged muscle fibers, which increases the potential for growth of those fibers. This increase in myonuclei probably stems from creatine's ability to increase levels of the myogenic transcription factor MRF4.[15]

Of course I don't understand much of this but when I saw a therapist about this I was told the nerve fibers in my legs were in excellent condition (so why are my legs weak?) but of course the therapist said "we cannot measure small twitch fiber" which is where the actual problem may lie.

I always wondered why exercise never really worked to strengthen muscles. My son took creatine for many years and now I wish had tried it myself.
