Thyroid problem after IVF

Did anyone get a thyroid problem after failed IVF? I had my last cycle in December & got sick at the beginning of January so got blood tests done, My TSH has gone down to 0.01 and my t4 26.1, t3 7.4 one week ago my TSH was 0.04 and these t3 & t4 were lower. Can this level out normally? I found this picture which says it could be Graves’ disease, just trying to do my research before seeing the doctor and wondering if anyone else got problems after IVF? And how they dealt with it to prepare for the next round?

You are hyperthyroid to have suppressed TSH with high FT4 and FT3 but you would need a Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI) or Thyroid Receptor antibody (TRab) test to confirm that hyperthyroidism is caused by Graves Disease (autoimmune hyperthyroidism).

I really have no idea whether IVF can trigger hyperthyroidism. I would think it is possible as pregnancy can trigger hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.

In the UK hyperthyroidism is usually managed in endocrinology. Your GP can start you on Carbimazole while you are awaiting an appointment. When pregnancy is confirmed you should be switched from Carbimazole to Propylthiouracil (PTU) as Carbimazole can cross the placenta and cause hypothyroidism in the foetus.

Yes, I did! My cycle was in October and by January my TSH was 0, T3 23 and T4 62.7. My reproductive endocrinologist said it could have something to do with the IVF treatment and after some searching I think it could be due to the HCG shot. It's very rare and only happens if you have a possible underlying issue, he said. I'd ask for a blood test and specifically TRab, as the previous commenter said. Still waiting for my thyroid to regulate after 7 months... haven't been able to do any more IVF but I hope your story is more positive.
