Need help

Just received email my consultant I went private to has agreed to send me a new script as gp stopped prescribing it

Can someone please please help as in were can I send this to . I couldn’t afford to pay for it at local pharmacy they quoted me approximately around the 900 pound mark 😩 I’m desperate

Hopefully someone else will come along soon who has more experience of this than me. There are members who are sending their prescription off to Germany and paying a vastly smaller amount than in the UK. You have to physically send your prescription in the post to Germany.

Not sure if I'm allowed to add a link to German supplier. Will send it to you by private message. There are though others on here who have discovered this much much cheaper way of getting T3 (Is it T3?)

What is the prescription for ie 20mcg or 25mcg Liothyronine?

I’m not sure he is posting it to me but the last scripts were 5 mg

No, if its Liothyronine it might be 5mcg but won't be 5mg. You might as well hang on until you have the prescription because the number of tablets prescribed will affect the cost and if a brand has been specified that will affect price too.

You should ask your endo to write a script for 20mcg or 25mcg Liothyronine. The scripts can then be used to buy Thybon from Germany for around €35 for 100 x 20mcg or you can buy Sanofi Cynomel 100 x 25mcg from France for a few Euros.

Oh my oh my I have just emailed my consultant asked could he do me an nhs script 🤞 if not could I have 20mcg

If your endo was more aware he would have considered the extortionate cost of Liothyronine in the UK.

Not embarrasing at all. It should be Endos and doctors who should be embarrassed who've withdrawn an essential life-giving thyroid hormone and left many floundering and not knowing where to turn next.
