Help with T3 nightmare
I am not sure because in seems in Europe that 25mcg is a standard tablet.
20mcg I believe is only UK. Maybe he should phone before taking a flight. Some countries may not worry too much about mcg.
I’d recommend ringing the pharmacy before anything else.
I think a visit to your MP wouldn't go amiss and tell him what dire affects you'll have if you cannot source T3 and that you are forced to source privately and to the extent that your husband is willing to fly abroad. You can tell him it was withdrawn without the patients' inputs.
You can give MP a couple of excerpts, i.e. Dr Toft's article

This is from a previous post:
"It is legal to import T3 currently. A change in the law would be required to restrict people importing T3 for the use of themselves or their households.
If people don't complain to their MPs and ask for support then there will be no awareness of the distress and illness caused by withdrawing T3 prescriptions."

This is from the BTA - link below:
I have been on Liothyronine (L-T3) a long time. Is there any problem with switching me to Levothyroxine (L-T4)?
Your doctor should have made you aware of the risk to your thyroid stability. A change in treatment can unfortunately result in a significant instability in thyroid status, which can take some time to address.
Is there a resource to which I can refer with regard to the use of Liothyronine (L-T3)?
Yes there is a 2015 BTA Statement on the Management of Primary Hypothyroidism. This summarises the evidence for the use of Liothyronine and states that we have yet to see conclusive evidence regarding its efficacy for this condition. Therefore combination treatments of Liothyronine and Levothyroxine should be started and supervised by an accredited endocrinologist rather than a GP.
Thank you, feeling so poorly as been without for 6 weeks can't metabolise just T4 its not nough for me.
You can order a Thybon Henning online from Germany. Takes 10 days approx
But tablets come in 100 packs
Prescription needs to say 100 x 20mcg
Are there no UK online pharmacies or ring around local independent pharmacies that can source in UK for you
Will add couple of old posts might have useful info

NHS can and does use cheaper alternatives
I feel for you - I take T3 only now and also source my own. It is a huge predicament if we cannot get it prescribed for us or be able to source it. Six weeks is too long to be without it and I hope you are able to get some soon.
Ridgebacklover,
What do you mean 6 x 20mcg? How many 20mcg tablets have you been prescribed?
A UK pharmacist would not be allowed to dispense 25mcg tablets if the prescription said 20mcg.
No a friend is in Prague but they only dispense 25mcg so script will not be filled, spoke to pharmacy directly this afternoon.
