Can anyone give me some information on t3 . I used to be prescribed privately then my gp would change to nhs script but was stopped by my gp because of the ban by the government.
Fast forward I’ve just had a phone consultation with endro nhs saying he will send script to my gp plus folic acid plus vit d , my question is can my gp refuse this .
Thank you in advance 🌺

Initially T3 trial should be prescribed via NHS endocrinologist and via hospital pharmacy for first 3-6 month trial before endocrinologist writes to GP to formally request they take over care and cost of prescription
Price of T3 dropped significantly, now £92 per 28 tablets 20mcg
Details in link below
NHS England Liothyronine guidelines July 2019 clearly state on page 13 that TSH should be between 0.4-1.5 when OPTIMALLY treated with just Levothyroxine
Note that it says test should be in morning BEFORE taking levothyroxine
This consultant used to give me a private script I took it to my surgery and they changed it to nhs then they said can’t do it anymore , I didn’t know it had dropped in price . I live in Belfast ni do you think that apples hear also
He told me if my gp won’t go ahead I will have to get back to him that he will give be me a script for roseway labs . At least I will know if needs be I need 20 mg and not 5 I will cut it 🙏🌺
