t3 again

Dear All

I went to Boots for my prescription t3, I was given two tubs of mercury pharma and two t3 Teva. I asked for mercury pharma for the rest. Boots said suppliers said it was not available. I don't want other makes as in the past had problems with thyroxine. Any thoughts!

If you haven't accepted the T3 ask for your prescription back and take it elsewhere if Boots are unable to order Mercury Pharma for you.

Independent pharmacies can be more flexible about ordering than chains like Boots and Lloyds.

I find Tesco is very helpful.

If you have accepted the Teva, take it back and ask for remainder of prescription to be supplied when Mercy Pharma becomes reavailable

I think you are right to be wary. I don't think it wise to mix two different T3's or T4's because if we don't feel so good we wont know which is causing a problem.

Take your business elsewhere! Ask for your prescription back and find a smaller chain/independent pharmacy and give them the business instead.

Boots apparently have 'deals' with certain pharmacies and thats why the meds change. Currently their T3 deal is with Teva and unless your GP writes eg Mercury Pharma Liothyronine on your script they will not order it but give you Teva instead. I was told this by my local Boots pharmacy, they have to pay an extra £100 if it is ordered from a company that isnt in their deal and they are unable to claim this back from NHS!
