T3 again

I have been on Mercury pharma t3 for many years. This morning I tried to get my usual from Boots they told me all their suppliers are out of stock. In the past one assistant use to get this for me today she wasn't there. I called Mercury Pharma to be told there are plenty of stock. So why do we need to chase for everything?

Although it is better to stick to one brand there are times when that is not possible so it is good to have an alternative. I use Morningside lio but Boots know that I will accept Teva lio if my usual one is not in their supply chain.

Hi Lalatoot Thank you. I felt that I was fobbed off. So I contacted the Boots pharmacy manager and she ordered it for me as well some for next time.

That's good. I find Boots very helpful.

Glad you had a good result. I’ve been struggling to get Wockhardt Levothyroxine 25 mcg from Boots, and occasionally as you, the mercury liothyronine. So, did you just speak to the pharmacy manager at your particular store? Or is there a central one for the whole company?

Hi beh1

First I phoned Mercury Pharma and spoke to them explaining the situation. They told me they had plenty in stock. Then they said Boots should order it through Aliance. I spoke to the manager my local Boots, as it happens they do use Aliance. Good luck.

I picked up 4 boxes of Mercury Pharma T3 a couple of weeks ago from Asda pharmacy without any problems.

I have it in my head that they're still expensive and the prices of other brands have come down so perhaps some pharmacies are reluctant to order them?

Good luck.

Hi Babette

Did you pay or on prescription. The cheapest to buy is UK MED at £279 per 28 tabs.

I get mine on prescription but vaguely remember a pharmacist pointing at one brand costing around £170 and saying the one I take is around £280.

I guess he was referring to the generics as there are several on the market.

All 20mcg T3 on NHS is same price

Currently £136.96 per 28 tablets (was £121 last month)

10mcg x 28 = £148

5mcg x 28 = £98
