Dr. Mark Hyman sent out his "Broken Brain" newsletter with the above headline.

" overtaking heart disease for the first time, new figures have shown.”

In America, it is the 6th leading cause of death, and since the year 2000, death by heart disease has been declining, and deaths from Alzheimer’s disease have increased by 89%.

Experts are now calling Alzheimer’s disease Type 3 diabetes. New research shows insulin resistance is one of the major factors that starts the brain-damage cascade."

We know sugar and starches cause insulin surges. We certainly know our own diets in that regard and what we must do to avoid the awful consequences of dementia. Our brains also need oxygen which even walking for half an hour may accomplish. Supplements are necessary for most of us, B vitamins and minerals may be essential. He also recommends detoxing heavy metals. If you have fillings or had vaccinations but there are also lead, cadmium, etc. in the air that may be accumulating. Keep this in mind before it's too late.

Hi Angie, you have such a great attitude and should help toward your recovery. I don't think I saw your last pm and you are doing what it takes even if you can't get people to listen. Your own good health will be the best example for them. People like you inspire me! I'm working on more insights that are exciting. We have to get down to the cellular level with healing so I'm exploring that.

Ah, thank you. Cellular level intrigues me. I can't help think, we create a cell within, do our (longer), time, depending on whether we bother to do the necessary work within... if we continue doing, saying, being,... what we always have, we remain in our self-imposed prison. Breaking out takes work..... but it is, so worthwhile!

As we work on our body, mind, and spiritual well-being, we become more free and healthier..

I cannot, will not, look at the physical body and disease, in isolation. I feel to get back to equilibrium, we must examine, and support our wholesome selves..

Just my personal thoughts, heloise. Let me know what you think.

I mentioned you earlier, to Liam, (HU), who is struggling with thyroid. I told him how you led me to Dr Tom and Dr Bergman, how I love those guys!!!

By the way, yes, 2 of my 3 children, are listening now! I'm so pleased they learn this stuff at their younger years.

When my eldest daughter told me she had an abnormal thyroid test result, we quickly began changing her diet. She has much gluten free food now.

And, as she owns her own independent school, she has reduced her hours, reducing work related stress. She has also introduced free fruit for the school children. This thrills me, no end, the Betrayal videos have been well watched here!!!

That is amazing!!! I wonder how many people are getting the message. These pioneers like Tom and Izabella say that the feedback has been tremendous. When Dr. Kharrizian said he had 1500 people on a waiting list I have to think it is getting around. People have to understand that so much of this depends on us being willing to do the work. As you said "it's worth it".

I'm so happy about your daughter because she may not have the time to read all the evidence and you can give her the important features. Running a school must be extremely stressful but rewarding as well. Maybe checking her other hormones would be wise, progesterone gets used up quickly by adrenals.

We know about the gut/brain connection but the body/mind connection is also very strong. I remember distinctly when I was at my most ill, something kept telling me I was dying. Well, Dr. Bergman says if you are breaking down more than you are building up (cellularly) you ARE dying and your body knows it.

Building spirituality is probably the most important aspect of health, don't you think? Spiritual people look beyond some of the petty annoyances in life and know that having a good conscience is better than any antidepressant and living without guilt is very freeing.

I think your children have a very wise mother.

Yes, I'm reading The Root Cause, right now. I love reading books that echo symptoms I had/have and show the way forward.

I gave feedback on two occasions, for Dr Tom. I was delighted, when I got the Betrayal videos posted for a second viewing! I knew I owed it to the cause, to get others on board.

I too, thought I was dying when my health crashed a couple of years ago, I went to a reflexologist, in the hope she would pin point, what GP did not. I also hoped, she could provide relaxation at that very stressful time. I had thrown two bags of pharmaceutical meds (as I lay in bed, very unwell), at my (lovely), GP, telling her she was killing me! (She had prescribed numerous meds, as preventative guidelines dictated, for thyroid patients).

The reflexologist told me my body was breaking down. Harsh, frightening words, but no surprise, I felt that too. Her treatment was very intense. As I got ready to leave, she told me to get selenium, I didn't because I was too afraid, having suddenly developed gastrointestinal problems. She also loaned me Dr Peatfields book, How to Look After Your Thyroid... what a wise, and wonderful reflexologist! She, and the book, became a lifeline, offering me hope and support..

My daughter takes children who are excluded from school. Although they come from various backgrounds, some are prescribed meds, that I can but think, ah, do some of these dear children, have unidentified thyroid issues? My heart wants all these children tested for thyroid. My head tells me, I am not in a position to ensure that happens.

I suffered alopecia, and hormonal problems, during puberty, my grandmother died during thyroid surgery, it seems a no brainer, to me, that my thyroid issues should have been diagnosed at that time.

The children love going to the school. They are accepted, loved, cherished, engaged in learning. I thank God, that our family, play such a part, in supporting these children. My daughter's school is a happy, functioning environment. Her leavers return during college breaks, mainstream school had written them off.... they visit because they are loved and admired, they now know their self worth, and are proud to be college students..

My daughter had one episode of gut issues. Her blood test showed abnormal thyroid profile. She was under stress, as her school was full to capacity, and more children needed placing urgently. She has since taken on more staff, bought another centre, and put a manager in place. She has since, taken more holiday, and her recent test is fine. Together, we recognised the warning her thyroid was giving. Yes, I am a believer! Thyroid is the canary!!! I love Dr Bergman!!!

You are so right, she has little time to research thyroid, I do have time, with knowledge, I've been able to help.

Spiritual health. What can I say? It is our core. Inner peace is so important. None of us, should take a minute, for granted. Life is a gift. We must respect, give thanks, and use that gift well.

I believe in the unseen, now, if only some Drs would do that? Thyroid patients may well be listened to, believed and supported. Ah, anxiety labels, and all, would become redundant.

Heloise, with you, I feel I have met a Soul Mate! I thank you, for all you share and care.

Have a lovely, healthy Christmas! Xxx
