I posted a few days ago for a bit of advice due to persistent low cortisol and being very symptomatic despite really good thyroid results and vitamin levels.
I saw the endocrinologist at the Liverpool royal and I have to say she was fantastic! I was in there for about 45 minuets so apologies if you were waiting to be seen and as I expected she reduced my T4 by 25mcg but is happy with my T3 dose. I did ask could this now by prescribed but apparently they still aren’t allowed by the ccg 😡
They said my previous sst was borderline so they are repeating the short synacthen test and also performing a long glucose tolerance test due to the hypoglycaemia and kidney ultrasound(my egfr is 58 and I’m 45) this week. I’ve also had bloods and a 24hr urine sample for a Pheochromocytoma work up, and bloods for lymes disease and adrenal, lkm and gmb antibodies. Hopefully I’ll get these results next week and with any look an answer to why I feel so god damn ill!
Without this forum I very much doubt I’d have half the knowledge I’ve gained so thank you
Just 1 question though please. I’m having the sst in the morning followed immediately by the gtt. The ACTH isn’t likely to interfere with the gtt results is it? At least I’ll be fasted for the sst this time unlike the previous one x
