Will t3 help stop and regrow hair?

Does anyone have any experience od this? If so how long before u noticed change. Dr is giving me a prescription for t3. 20.mcg half a tab a day

My hair came out in clumps when I overmedicated T3. It was considerably more than 10mcg though.

Low iron is more likely to be a cause of hair loss. Has ferritin been tested?

Yes. Ferritin and iron is good. Well up the level. I have been supplementing for nearly 2 years. Was your hair coming out in lumps before you over medicated. Was it a symptom for you clutter before medication treatment. A broken thyroid makes me feel like a broken person.

No, but my hair had been shedding and thinning and had become tangled and lifeless several years before I got a diagnosis. It's more than 5 years since thyroidectomy and only recently that my hair seems to be growing thicker and, according to my hairdresser, "behaving properly".

For the past 2 years my hair is sh1t. Thinner strands that tangle snap break are lifeless have no weight shed in vast numbers wont regrow. Hair loss all over my body. I am hoping t3 will correct it.

I was the hairiest person i know. With thr thickest hair.

I am so deepyly depressed by this. I habent socialised in 2 years.

I avoid people.

My life has basically atopped. I go to work to get money and come home. I cry all the time because of this loss.

I always feel like i want god to strike me down and end this misery.

If it doesnt recover i dont lile the thought of year after year of this. This past 2 years have been impossible.

My hair was similar and it did it a lot of good to cut it shorter and have it regularly trimmed.

I was 90% bedbound for 15 months and in such despair I was suicidal. I'm glad I persisted because once I was able to optimise thyroid levels and vitamins and minerals things started to improve. Don't give up. If the depression is crushing then do ask for antidepressants to help you through.
