Hi - here are my latest results. I am taking 75mcg levothyroxine and 12.5mcg T3 (bought from Greece). Do you think it would be ok to increase T3 to 25mcg?
Also I am very dissappointed that my antibodies are way up. I have been gluten free for 18 months apart from a couple of weeks ago when I gave in and had some gluten as an experiment to see if I felt worse. Short term I was ok. but have been feeling really flu-ey for the last two days. Do you think this is related to eating gluten after not having it for so long? I am back on the strict gluten free diet now as I don't want to take any chances.
Also I have very high ferritin and I am not supplementing.
Finally how do my vitamin levels look? (I am supplementing with B12 hence the huge number!)
Your fluey symptoms could be flu or a virus at this time of year or could be due to being 'glutened'. It will take around six months for the gut villii to heal after being glutened.
TSH 0.088 is suppressed, FT4 17 is mid-range and FT3 4.87 is under halfway through range. There is scope to increase T3 dose but I would increase to 18.75mcg not 25mcg and would retest in 6-8 weeks to check FT3 remains within range.
Thyroid antibodies are high. Some members have said they've been gluten-free for 3 years before antibodies started to drop.
B12 over range is fine if you are supplementing. You could reduce dose to 2-3 times a week to maintain level. There's no point in peeing out expensive supplements.
Folate is low in range. You could supplement 400mcg daily for a few months with a B Complex vitamin.
VitD 67 is suboptimal. Optimal is 100-150. I would supplement 5,000iu D3 daily x 6 weeks and then reduce to 5,000iu alternate days and retest late March. Take vitD 4 hours away from Levothyroxine and T3.
CRP is low which is good.
High ferritin without supplementing iron indicates infection or inflammation in the body. Your ferritin isn't significantly high and even a cold at the time of testing can elevate ferritin. Retest in 4-6 months.
Thank you Clutter for replying - I will do as you suggest.
My ferritin levels were also high last time I checked about two years ago. I think I will do a Medichecks complete iron panel to see if I should be doing further investigations.
