Having breakfast will lower your TSH, and as most doctors only look at the TSH, most of us need it to be as high as possible.

Taking your levo before the test will raise your FT4 - could make it over-range - which could lead your doctor to believe you are over-medicated.

Eating before a blood test will lower TSH.

Levo peaks in the blood 2-6 hours after taking it, so having your blood drawn too close to taking Levo can give a higher FT4 than leaving off Levo for 24 hours.

To get best results always fast overnight and only have plenty of water until after the blood draw. Always book earliest possible appt, by 9 at the latest as TSH drops through the day. Do not take any medication or supplements until after the bloods. Some labs use a test that is affected by the b vit biotin. If any supplements contain this then stop for at least a couple of days before. If you take a high dose biotin like in a hair and nails supplement you may need to stop for 8 days before the test for it to clear. I now just stop for a week to be safe.
