Blood tests - Which company for private tests?

I've checked the Genova, Blue Horizon and Health Screening and found it a bit confusing - prices and the bundles they have. Anyone who has taken them could advise me on which one? Also the best value for money. Thanks

And just to make things even more confusing, Blue Horizon has three websites that I know of, there could be others (I've never used any of them so can't comment on them in any way) :

bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/

privatebloodtests.co.uk/

homebloodtests.co.uk/

You should check each site carefully, because the prices vary between the sites.

Thank you. Yes it's a bit confusing. I'll need to try private GP says no need to test other than TSH but symptoms don't improve

Hi there

I've recently had private tests with Blue Horizon medicals. I took the comprehensive V test which included iron, vit d and vit b. it's currently on offer at £109. We had to travel to another county to get these done but I was really pleased with the service and the foundings. It turned out I had a vit d and iron deficiency. Plus slightly low kidney result.

I took these results to my doctor who referred me to an endo and gave me iron and vit d supplements so really pleased I took this test privately.

Hope this helps. The only thing it doesn't include is a T3 test and I would like to know this but I'm hoping an endo will test for this.

Let me know if you would like any more info xx

Hi I always use Blue Horizon, main WEB site, finger prick or venous blood. That is because the lab are well known and accepted by docs, they know them as really the same lab used by most private hospitals. Do not go through Spire et as expensive that way.Quote TUK10 for a discount.

Best wishes,

Jackie

You can do vit d on the nhs for 25 pds finger prick or ask your gp for free if they will! The 25pd on is posted out to you. It depends what you want to have tested. Ive had a multiude of tests done, all home based aside from the full thyroid screen. I had iodine loading, adrenals, metal screening, full vit acreen.

Can you give more information, please? How did you get the NHS to do this and who did you pay money to?

Hi there. The weblink is vitamindtest.org.uk the one I used. In my vit d tabs there is a leaflet mybloodtest.co.uk/vitamin-d and with the code HUXD313 you get 10pct off, I have not used this second service :)
