Who here has used blue horizons home blood tests?

just thought id ask who else has used homebloodtests also know as blue horizon to check there thyroid? how quick did u get ur results etc? im thinking of getting the intermediate that tests tsh ft3 and ft4 as its the most ican afford.will that be enough?

ooo thank you,least someones uses them before and there good still debating if not picking the test that also has antibodies in is a bad idea,if tsh t3 and t4 are fine would it still be possible to have thyroglobulin antibodies?

I used them last Monday.. they said results in 2 days, I had consultant apt Saturday and had to ring Friday because I didn't have them back.. when I rang they said they were awaiting their doctor's opinion, when I said I wasn't interested in their doctor's opinion they said OK and just emailed to me straight away

they also said they'd reduce the costs next time and not charge me the fee for the doctor if I didn't want it.

id only want the results emailed to me tbh.well iv had alot of symptoms for the past 4 years which is kinda diagnoised as having POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) a family member keeps saying to me i should get my thyroid checked because all my symptoms are the same.also having trouble eating i keep gagging.my symptoms range from dizziness,extreme fatigue,vertigo,weight gain,im sensitive to heat though not the cold plus loads more symptoms and im only 22.iv been checking my basel temp for the last 5 morning and there 35.6,36.0,36.1,35.5,35.6.so thats why im thinking hmmm,and i dont wana ask the doctors iv had a hard enough time with them as it is sorry if iv confused anyone

I requested one for my sister and the results were emailed - nothing went to the doctor.

I've been diagnosed hypo for about six years, and am being sent to falls and syncope for pots testing in September.

Hi

I had a good service. Took bloods (finger prick) on friday and results back wed next week.

I did have to do twice though as not enough blood first time. So make sure you get it well above required line. TIP. She told me to run up down stairs a couple times to get blood pumping which definitley helped.

oo il defo remember that thats still fast considering then had to send the pack twice and you sent it to them twice

Run up and down stairs! I'd be dead! It's all I can do to go up them on hands and knees! But I did manage to get enough blood. The service is excellent.

horrible isnt it im kinda hoping its something more simple like hypo or hyper.pots is quite hard to get help for

I was relieved when I received my hypo diagnosis but unfortunately doctors don't really know much about treating it and many people are left very ill because of their ignorance and love of the TSH test, hence the need for sites like this. Good luck xx

yeh exactly why iv ordered the tsh t3 and t4 test.do most people get no help because doctors dont bother or that theres no anything to help them?

Because most doctors believe that the TSH test is perfect and that T4 (thyroxine) suits everyone and aren't even aware that there are alternatives

I felt dreadful on T4 but am almost back to normal on Armour - a product that contains T3 as well as T4. T4 is actually a storage hormone and some people seem to be unable to convert it very well to the active T3, so for them taking some direct T3 can be life-changing xx

ooo i see,im defo gona post my results here and ask for advice if anything comes back on my test thats not normal,i trust people that live with a condition everyday over any kind of doctor tbh.took me 4 years to get a pots diagnoisis and even then its still not 100% x

I would post them even if the are "normal" - too many doctors think results are "normal" when they most certainly aren't. xx

so could blue horizons tests still say there normal when there not? if there like boardline or sumin? sorry for asking so many questions btw x

i've had not much luck with hypo help, have struck out on my own for the most part (not on my own, with lots of gracious help from various folks, including from here). but the pulse and blood pressure thing is making everything harder. does the pots test include testing to see if they thyroid problem is managed well?

not that i know of nope.to find out if u have pots you have a tilt table test,as when i stand up my heart pounds and all my blood sits in my feet.iv had bloods done a few times but im not realy sure what for.thats why i kinda do my own testing as i dont trust doctors anymore lol.do you feel faint if your standing to long? sorry for my typing as im 22 and english so i dont really type very well

HI I used them at end of June but had to ring for results a week later,,,they said there was an error on my date of birth !!!! then emailed results to me within hours....I paid £140 which i think was expensive for full thyroid tests...i took them to my GP who said our hospital uses a different system in measuring on some of the tests and he then did a full set of same tests for free on NHS...so as my GP could compare my latest results with those on record...so i feel i wasted my savings

aww that sucks but if u didnt have them tests is may not of done there own thyroid tests if you no wot i mean?

Out of interest did they compare well with the NHS ones for results?
