No meds?

Hi, I'm new here... Is there anyone who is trying to improve their symptoms through diet, exercise and possibly intermittent fasting? I have had a lump on the left side of my neck for around 18 months and I'm now experiencing a lot of my pain in the left side of my neck, back and arm. I have had a blood test and a scan and the doctor has agreed to let me continue without medication for the moment (I live in France). Any advice greatly appreciated but I'm fighting the medication route all the way. I'm 49, menopausal, 5ft and around 8 stone so not overweight. Thanks in advance ...

If you have hypothyroidism, and you are not going to replace your failing hormones, you might find you stress your body. Nothing works efficiently in our body without the necessary thyroid hormones if we are lacking unless you supplement. The nearest to a 'natural' thyroid hormone also called called NDT (natural dessicated thyroid hormones).

If you would like to post your latest blood test results, with the ranges members will respond.

Thank you for your response, I'll look into it... I'm not sure if it would help if I post the results though as they are in French and I think they have a different system! It's good to be among a lot of people who have vast experience with this issue... so I'm very grateful for that.

Results can help as we have members who live in France and may be able to comment on results with the ranges.

A result with a range is a result with a range, no matter what the country. Moreover, a TSH is always a TSH no matter what the range! And, if your TSH is consistantly over 3, you are hypo. And, no diet on earth can change that. And, over-exercising and fasting can make things worse. Seeing exactly what was tested - the right tests are no always done - and exactly what the results were, will help us advise you.

I also live in France, so am used to French results. :)
