T3/thyroid friendly endo, Oxon/Bucks/Berks borders?

Hi -

I'm still struggling to feel well on Levo at the moment and my doctor has, whilst refusing the tests I would like on the NHS, told me to up my doses. I am struggling to function at all due to the fatigue and my conclusion is that either it's time for the men in white coats to carry me to the funny farm, or I need an endo who will test for vit d and consider giving me T3 as i'm guessing this could be about failure to convert... Either that or I'm going mad / have something else seriously wrong with me :(

After a bit of a fight with our private health provider ("we don't cover chronic conditions") they've relented and allowed me to see an endo... great news... so any recommendations you can offer on experience in the areas of Reading, High Wycombe or at worst, Oxford, would be great! I have the list from Thyroid UK, but if anyone has a personal recommendation to add, that would be lovely. I'm worried that i'll have nowhere to turn if this doesn't work - last roll of the dice on this! - so it feels really important to get the right endo!

thanks!

I don't know the area, but I am in a similar 'last roll of the dice' situation and sympathise completely with your feelings. Hopefully someone will know an endo who can help.

Wishing you well.

Lotika,

If your GP won't order the thyroid and vitamin tests you require you can order privately via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... Medichecks offer #ThyroidThursday discounts. It will probably be cheaper to order your own blood tests than to use the lab recommended by a private endo unless your health insurance is also covering the tests.
