Hello Flower9,

Welcome, welcome 🤗

Members are more inclined to share their sources if you add your last blood test results with ranges. Also how much T4 do you current take and for how?

And do you know if you have high anti bodies/ Hashimotos?

Do you supplement and if so your nutrients optimal?

A lot of questions but some don’t need T3. They’ve missed out on other things that can help them make the most of T4 / Levothyroxine.

You’ve come to the right place. Between members and out amazing Admin team - you’ll soon be on the toad to recovery.

Your TSH should be 1.0 or under to feel well. I get my FTs mixed up so someone will be along to clarify those.

TG antibodies >1200 (<115)

Okay. But have you tried a gf diet?

What supplements and quantity do you take. And how far apart from your Levo? Before after or with?

Sorry they are positive. Not tried gluten free diet and not taking supplements

I thought I was reading things backwards. Gluten free helps a lot. You should try it as soon as possible as it helps to lower antibodies. It’s made a huge difference to the 90% of us Hashimotos sufferers. Be careful of cross contamination. House toasters and grills etc. I’m not gonna lie. It’s hard to begin with but when you’re 100% gf you’ll thank yourself for it.

You should supplement ASAP. High quality. None of the multi vitamins non sense. I get mine from America so I wouldn’t be the best person to ask about brands or quantities as mine are delivered in dose packs (I’m super lazy)

But Selenium

B12

Vit D

Also get you foliate, ferritin and calcium levels checked. I’m currently on a train so will double check if no one adds the rest as I’m tired and have missed a few. Also are you male or female?

Hi. Thanks. Sex was re iron intake. Post everything the more we know the better advice you’ll get. May I also add - edit your last post with something like ‘results before been taken off Liothyronine’ saves the others having to read through a decipher why there’s two results and which one is which.

Was on T3 before with no problems

Do you have your bloods from before you were taken off Liothyronine?

May I ask why you were taken off and how long ago?

Currently GPs are given a financial incentive to keep patients on Levo only. If you have a clinical need and it’s been proven in the past you should fight to have it re instated.

I haven’t got the link to hand but someone will probably add it once you’ve replied as to why.

Results before being taken off T3 4 month ago due to below results (75mcg levothyroxine and 10mcg T3)

TSH <0.02 (0.2 - 4.2)

Free T4 20.8 (12 - 22)

Free T3 5.6 (3.1 - 6.8)

TSH <0.02 (0.2 - 4.2)

Free T4 20.6 (12 - 22)

Free T3 5.2 (3.1 - 6.8)

You are undermedicated. The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it needs to be for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges when on Levo.

You need to adopt a strict gluten free diet which has helped many Hashi's members here. Gluten contains gliadin (a protein) which is thought to trigger autoimmune attacks so eliminating gluten can help reduce these attacks. You don't need to be gluten sensitive or have Coeliac disease for a gluten free diet to help.

Supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily can also help reduce the antibodies, as can keeping TSH suppressed.

Those results were actually very good, but how did you feel? There was no need for T3 to be removed. Free Ts were in range, and TSH will usually be very low or suppressed when taking T3, which your endo should know if he is prescribing it.

I have seen your vitamin and mineral post, and will comment further when you can say how old those results are.
